Housing Action NH Names Next Director; Nick Taylor to Lead Organization in the Next Chapter of Affordable Housing Advocacy

CONCORD – Today, Housing Action NH announced the hire of the organization’s next director, Nick Taylor. Taylor will be taking the helm from Elissa Margolin, who has deftly led the organization for fifteen years and put New Hampshire’s housing crisis front and center at the State House. Taylor comes to Housing Action NH with nearly a decade of experience in New Hampshire’s politics and policy landscape, including serving as executive director of the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast, a former member of his local Zoning Board of Adjustments, and as policy director for the New Hampshire Senate. He also previously served as a governing council member of Housing Action NH.

Housing Action NH leaders released the following statements after the announcement:

“At this pivotal moment in our work to address New Hampshire’s housing crisis, Housing Action NH is thrilled to have Nick Taylor take the helm. We are confident he will continue our work to steer the conversation and policy proposals towards solutions that allow us to build the affordable housing that is so desperately needed,” said Robert Tourigny, Housing Action NH Governing Council member and executive director of NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire.

Elissa Margolin, outgoing director of Housing Action NH, added, “I am delighted to pass the reins to Nick Taylor. Nick is a skillful advocate, an energized coalition builder, a committed partner and a thoughtful leader. Nick’s State House experience, political know-how, and policy expertise ensure that Housing Action NH’s engagement will result in improved state and federal policies so everyone in New Hampshire has a place to call home.”

“I’m grateful for the support of Housing Action NH’s governing council and excited to get to work addressing our state’s housing crisis. There is real bipartisan opportunity at the local, state, and federal levels to increase housing supply and lower costs, which will help our businesses find the workforce they need, allow seniors to stay in their communities, and unlock the American Dream for too many who currently find it out of reach. Thank you to Elissa Margolin for her steadfast advocacy and incredible leadership at Housing Action NH over the last fifteen years,” said Nick Taylor, incoming executive director of Housing Action NH.
