  • Home Matters in NH
  • In the News
  • Legislative Updates

Welcome to the Housing Matters Newsletter!

Congratulations to all those who were elected in Tuesday’s municipal elections, and thank you to everyone who put their name forward to serve their community. The only way to address our housing shortage is through effective leadership at the local, state, and federal levels.

We have a shorter newsletter than usual, as I’m in Denver for a conference, learning from and working with communities across the country who are addressing homelessness in their region.

Please save the date and get your tickets for our Home Matters Awards Night on December 3rd in Concord. More information below!

If you were forwarded this newsletter and would like to receive future updates, you can sign up here.

Best,

Nick Taylor

State House Updates

We are starting to get the first look at proposed legislative language from the Office of Legislative Services as bills are released on a rolling basis. A public list of Legislative Service Requests (LSRs), which are draft proposals, is available on the NH General Court website. The list includes bill titles and some language. As language is released, it will be linked under the LSR number.

The first batch of proposed language was released today. In next week’s newsletter, we’ll provide an update on what we’re seeing so far.

State Senators are allowed to file bills confidentially, so we won’t see the complete list of Senate bills until later this year. The State Senate has until November 13th to sign off on draft legislative language, and the House has until November 21st.
