Housing Action NH Recognizes Housing Champions with Home Matters in NH Awards

CONCORD — Today, Housing Action NH, a coalition of organizations and businesses united around affordable housing policy, presented its “Home Matters in NH Awards” sponsored by Evernorth at the Housing We Need Forum hosted by the Center for Ethics in Society at Saint Anselm College. A recording of the award presentation can be viewed here.

Housing Action NH recognized policy makers, advocates, and members of the press for their efforts to advance and inform policy solutions to New Hampshire’s housing crisis.

  • 2024 Legislator of the Year – Senator Rebecca Perkins Kwoka, Housing Caucus Co-Chair

  • 2024 Legislator of the Year – Representative Joe Alexander, Housing Caucus Co-Chair

  • 2024 Press Award – Geoff Forester, photographer at The Concord Monitor

  • 2024 Advocate of the Year – Dawn McKinney, policy director at NH Legal Assistance

This year, Housing Action NH also recognized Ben Frost’s legacy by establishing the Ben Frost Award for Excellent Leadership on Housing Policy. As deputy executive director and chief legal officer for New Hampshire Housing, and local elected official, Ben Frost has used his near encyclopedic knowledge of state housing policy to make an immeasurable impact on the state’s housing landscape.

Housing Action NH Director Nick Taylor released the following statement regarding the 2024 Home Matters in NH Awards:

“New Hampshire’s housing crisis requires all hands on deck. The Home Matters in NH Awards are an opportunity to recognize outstanding work in the field of housing insecurity and affordable housing. The leaders in politics, business, and media recognized this year have truly gone above and beyond in their work to ensure every Granite Stater has a place to call home. We applaud 2024 honorees Senator Perkins Kwoka, Representative Alexander, Geoff Forester, and Dawn McKinney and we look forward to continuing our collective work.”
