PRESS RELEASE: House and Senate Vote to Expand Housing Options
Concord, NH — Today, Housing Action NH applauds the bipartisan majority that supported critical pieces of legislation — SB 81, SB 84, SB 173, SB 282, SB 284, HB 631 — which will expand housing options statewide. Together, these policies will address rising housing costs, legalize starter homes and those suitable for downsizing, and ensure that families, seniors, and workers can find an affordable place to live in the communities they serve.
Housing Action NH Director, Nick Taylor, released the following statement after the votes:
“Housing Action NH applauds the bipartisan majority of Senators who took a crucial step toward addressing our state’s housing shortage by expanding home choices for Granite Staters. By allowing more starter homes, homes for downsizing, and homes near jobs, and homes for downsizing, we will create real opportunities for first-time homebuyers, seniors looking to stay in their communities, and the local workers who keep our economy running.”
